Using WEB 2.0 To Drive Internet Traffic – Three Top Tips

Along with WEB 2.0 came a whole range of new jargon and slang to describe the building blocks and concepts that it introduced. Like all new ideas, it can seem a little confusing for the newcomer, and might even deter some from participating in it altogether.
I have picked three of the three concepts that WEB 2.0 uses and will describe them here in the hope of demystifying them for those looking to either enjoy WEB 2.0, or more likely benefit from the advantages that this huge new “virtual market” brings.
1 – Tagging and Tags. Tags are like the keywords of a particular message, video, article or application. They are a “short cut” to understanding what it is about. As an example, if you produce a video about rock climbing you might choose “rock climbing”, “mountaineering” and “ascent” as three of your tags. This gives both the end user, and the engines on the web that categorize your video an idea of how and where to file it, and allow people to find it when searching under appropriate keywords.
2 – Project collaboration. You can think of many of the items posted on WEB 2.0 sites like Facebook and Youtube as “projects”. There is an original post, and over time others add to the discussion around it. Possibly responding with articles, videos or other media of their own, making the original post a “hub” for a whole topic where everyone can have a say and participate.
3 – Syndication. If your message is good, clear and unique, then others may want to spread your word for you. Simple content platforms such as Wordpress offer one button press syndication.
A great benefit for both the original author, who sees his message spread to a wider audience. And the syndicator themselves who benefits “by proxy” by having this much sought after information on their site or domain.
The new features and accessibility offered by WEB 2.0 has massively increased the number of people actively participating on the internet. Finding hotspots where these discussions are taking place between massive numbers of people is now relatively easy.
The trick from this point is to leverage your own skills to get your contribution seen and heard. Positioning yourself as someone with a product or idea that people should spend their time and possibly money on.
With the huge expansion of WEB 2.0 social sites, comes easy and quick ways of gaining web traffic to your own web pages.
Quick Traffic Tips For Internet Marketers

It’s not absolutely necessary to have a website to make money, but if you choose to have one it needs to be well optimized for marketing. Naturally, you’ll need to make it possible for people to find it. The flood and hordes of people killing themselves to get to your site is called: Traffic. You’ll have a better opportunity to get optins, or sales, or whatever you want with the more traffic you can get to your site. This is the goal for every internet marketer: to make as a high a profit as possible. Here are a few things that you can do to increase your website’s traffic (and, potentially, your profit margin!).
Updating your website is important for a lot of reasons, and one good way to do that is with a blog. If your site has not been kept up to date, you’re pretty much only looking at one-shot visitors. And the reverse is true, fresh content keeps ‘em coming back for more. So this will increase your chances of converting the repeat, returning visitors to either sales, or an optin. And you’ll able to establish your name in addition to getting more traffic. It’s a win-win!
Seek out writers and website owners who can contribute relevant content such as articles to your site and ask them for contributions. Tell them that if they give you an article in your niche topic, you’ll publish a link back to their website. This exchange can benefit you in two ways. Your page rank can go up by having more outbound links. The other advantage is that you’ll be getting an inbound link, another desirable benefit. If you publish something written by someone else, there’s a good chance they will note this on their own site, creating a link to your site. This way you can get the article writer’s readers to visit your site as well as getting both inbound and outbound links!
Find some newsletters in your niche area. Try to build a relationship, and then request if you can contribute some articles to their ezines. You’ll never ask for payment, your reward will be the ability to identify who you are and your site’s name. Many newsletter authors will happily let you advertise your products if your content is well written and is well received by the newsletter readers. And if it all goes well, you could end up with a good writing gig.
There are literally thousands of techniques to drive traffic to anywhere you want. You’ll always want methods that are sustainable over the long-run. With just an hour a day you can accomplish enough to bring in hundreds of visitors. This means that you are creating hundreds of possible sales opportunities. Thankfully if you keep working at it, you should be able to build up quite a stable of traffic to your website!

Does More Website Traffic Continue To Elude You
You wonder why more website traffic continues to elude you. So you beef up your efforts like never before, in a desperate attempt to bring in more visitors. But perhaps the real problem is not the lack of new faces to your site. Maybe it has more to do with why you’re not taking more care of the potential customers you’ve already got.
How do you nurture those who sign up for your list – and why should you do it?
Well, apart from being a nice guy who really cares about them, let me remind you what happens, when you start to discuss a TV show you enjoy with your friends…
Say you all love fishing; and you discover you all love watching “Fishing the Flats,” with Henry Waschuk. You don’t need any encouragement to agree how great the show is, or how much you enjoy his fishing tips, the recipe the chef provides – and the incredible variety of amazing fish found off the Florida Keys, or further down South.
Do you love the show for his obvious skill and the things you learn there? Partly – because he really is skillful, and the show has a great, well-designed format, packed with value.
But it’s more than just the tips, or Henry Waschuk’s skill, that makes you feel like you’ve had a mini fishing vacation, when you take that half hour to watch it on Sunday mornings…
It’s More Than Just The Tips, Or The Expertise
… It’s Henry’s enthusiasm. His passion, his joy – and how he so obviously lives for the sport! He’s like a little kid always caught in Christmas Day (in the warm, sunny Florida coastal waters) – and what’s more, he’s the sort of outgoing, friendly kid who lives to share his best presents with you.
(Even his chef – who so quickly shows you that fabulous, mouth-watering fresh-catch recipe – mirrors that enthusiasm and keeps the mood – and the party – flowing right along.)
How long has it been, since you brought that sense of joy and adventure to your website? How long since you shared your toys with absolute wonder and gleeful delight? Or do you calculate, plot, weigh consequences – and dole out content to your reader, inch by reluctant inch?
You need to give them a reason to really want to come back to your website. You want them running up your driveway, every Sunday morning, eager to see what you’ve got to share, like Henry, today.
Rediscover What Made It Fun
That’s the missing lure you may need to put back into your marketing strategy, to get more traffic. Make the most of the readers you’ve got – and they’ll do the work for you!
That example I used about “Fishing the Flats” was a real one. As we sat there and discussed it, we quickly found out four people in our midst hadn’t yet discovered the show – but after listening to us, they quickly became avid fans!
Just think – if that happened with 400 groups, each gaining 4 more subscribers in 4 weeks – that TV show would have 1,600 new viewers per week.
And if those 1,600 new viewers go out and 400 of them get into conversations with other fishing buddies… well, you can already see where I’m going with this, I’m sure.
So look for those two qualities – genuine enthusiasm and generosity in sharing a passion – in your marketing journey. If they’re not there in yours, step back. Take a “vacation” for yourself until you rediscover what lights you up like Henry Waschuk, before you take another step.
After all, why kill yourself, working night and day to drag in new visitors – when your enjoyment could be the missing key element helping your current subscribers haul in an even greater catch!
Article Marketing – How Article Marketing Can Bring You Free Traffic

For a long time now there has been a lot of buzz in the online world about article marketing, but I am still frequently asked what it is and how it works. Here is a brief explanation. Like any large medium, the internet is hungry for content.
However, unlike other media outlets such as TV, radio and newspapers, which generally only use content from professional writers, on the internet, anyone can publish. Article marketing is a way of taking advantage of that freedom and using the medium as a way to bring visitors to your website or blog. So, how does it work?
You write an article. A typical article for web consumption will be between 250 and 750 words long. It will be carefully focused round a specific area of expertise; the writer’s niche. It will use keywords relevant to the writer’s intended audience and often it will contain a numbered or bulleted list for clarity and ease of reading.
You publish that article on the web. There are now hundreds of article directories, where any writer can publish almost any article. Most are free to use, but some more specialized ones charge a small fee. One of the biggest free directories is EzineArticles.com which carries the work of nearly 70,000 writers.
The directories are organized into multiple categories and the article writer must decide which category to publish under. You are also encouraged to attach a group of relevant keywords to your article and to include your personal or business details and a link to your site, in your ‘resource box’, which is a brief paragraph about you or your work which will appear at the bottom of every article. The directories employ a team of staff to approve each article before it becomes available on the web.
So how does this drive traffic? Firstly, the directories, being very content rich, have high rankings in the search engines and often your article may be spotted there and an interested reader might click on your link and come through to your website.
However, the real purpose of the directories is to provide a place for e-zine publishers to find free and relevant content. Every day, editors of a huge range of subject specific e-zines, visit the article directories and download new articles that are relevant to their audience. This saves them writing it themselves. The only stipulation made is that they must publish the article in full, without editing and always include the author’s resource box and retain the links intact.
So over a period, a single article can easily, be found in many different places on the web, each time with a valuable back link to your website, which not only leads highly targeted visitors to you but also helps to improve your search rankings
